MUMBAI, 10 November, 2017 (TGN) : SRCC Children’s Hospital managed by Narayana Health launches a pediatric programme ‘Rakhsa Camp – Save the little Hearts’, an initiative to save and enrich lives of hundreds of children from across Maharashtra with aid from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and TATA Trusts.
Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis was the chief guest at the inauguration with dignitaries included Madan Yerawar– Guardian Minister, Shiv Kumar Dighe– Charity Commissioner, Mumbai, Kumar Chaitanya– Head of Individual Grants-TATA Trust, Omprakash Shete– OSD to Chief Minister, Chief -CM’s Medical Assistance Cell.
Addressing to the audience, Arunesh Punetha- Regional Director Narayana Health, said,“Under this unique programme, disadvantaged children from various parts of Maharashtra will be screened for free by pediatric healthcare specialists at regular intervals and treatment options will be provided whenever necessary”.
Today, screening began at 9 am and children from Nasik, Palghar and Yatmal participated in Raksha Camp. Most children had cardiac ailments and need surgical interventions.
Dr. Purna Kurkure – Medical Director and Sr. Consultant Oncology, Dr. Soonu Udani – Director Critical Care, Rupesh Choubey – Facility Director along with hospital staff were also present.
SRCC Children’s Hospital, managed by Narayana Health, is a multi-speciality hospital exclusively for children. Of the 207 beds currently operational, 87 have been allocated for Multispecialty Critical Care covering new-borns to adolescents.
It has taken critical care to a higher level with the concept of Level IV care where a qualified team of Paediatric Intensivists will be able to provide Emergency Life Support (ELS) for children with failure of their vital organs including heart, lungs and kidneys. Also available are a team of specialists in Cardiac sciences, Neurosciences, Hematology- Oncology, infectious diseases, Endocrinology, Orthopaedics, ENT, Gastroenterology, diagnostics services and nephrology amongst others.ENDS
