MUMBAI, 31 OCTOBER, 2019 (TGN) : Coinciding with the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, which falls on 31st October every year, Bank of India along with all Government offices, Public Sector Enterprises, Public Sector under takings and Public Sector Banks is observing Vigilance Awareness Week under the aegis of Central Vigilance Commission.
This year Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) is being observed from 28th October-2ndNovember 2019. During the observance of VAW 2019 several outreach programmes involving masses are organized in Schools/Colleges/Institutions and by holding gram Sabhas to spread the message of vigilance Awareness.
Theme for this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week, Integrity-A Way of Life, has been publicized by handouts/banners/electronic media as well as social media platform like Facebook and Twitter.
On this occasion bank of India has already released three short video clips on the theme of card phishing, KYC fraud and ATM fraud. The movies are entirely in-house production of Bank of India have been critically acclaimed by the masses and are trending on twitter under hash tag #tarasitara.
Under this outreach initiative, Bank of India on 31st October 2019 along with eight other Banks/Financial institutions (Viz. State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, NABARD, SIDBI, CANARA BANK, New India Assurance Co and Vigilance Study Circle –Mumbai Chapter) organized a human chain encompassing the entire length of BKC area where in nearly 2000 staffs of the above said institutions formed a human chain a 10.30 A.M. spreading the themes of Integrity-A Way of life. The event conceived by Shri Devendra Sharma, CVO, Bank of India, and was efficiently managed by the team of Bank of India Security Department with the Chief Security Officer Shri Rakesh Patney
Later, a walkathon starting from NABARD office at BKC was organized which covered an area of nearly 1 km. the event was organized by NABARD and holds significant importance for Bank of India as a contingent of nearly 45 specially-abled staffs from across Mumbai/Thane/Navi Mumbai whole-heartedly participated in the walkathon making it a grand success. Both events were covered live by the National Broadcaster Doordarshan and were live-streamed on Facebook. ENDS
